The Previous Read is the actual reading from your water meter that was recorded by the meter reader on the Read Date for your prior Water Statement.
The Current Read is the actual reading from your water meter that was recorded by the meter reader and used to calculate the water consumption charge for your water statement. Similar to the odometer on a car, it represents the cumulative number of units of water that have passed through your meter.
The Units section of the Water Statement is the number of units of water you consumed during the Billing Period, calculated by subtracting the Previous Read from the Current Read.
One unit of water is equal to one hundred cubic feet (1 CCF) of water or about 748 gallons of water.
